Smile Gueliz, Marrakech

Hi All,

As you guys can see I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if any of you can help me?

I have heard that Gueliz in Marrakech is a good area for investment.
There must be a government body in Marrakech who could provide statistics on the demand for property, figures on what types of properties were sold and in what areas etc.
I have tried searching on the net but have had no luck. Any ideas??

I look forward to any replies.

Regards

Jazmine

Re: Gueliz, Marrakech

Dear Jazimne,

I think that Gueliz in Marrakech is indeed a great area to invest in. You will find there everything that tourists want: Nice Hotels, Restaurants and it is close to the Jamaa El Fna. You will find a lot of tourists here the whole year long.
But if you want to invest in Gueliz I think you should not wait to long. Prices are increasing rapidly and at this moment the prices there are already very high. If you search good, and turn on your negotiation skills, I think you will be able to find a bargain. Also keep an eye on Property In Morocco - One of the most up and coming emerging property marketsfor some articles about investing in morocco.

Good Luck!

would be really interested to hear if you find anything like that anywhere in morocco....why would you think that these statistics would be available...it's an emerging market, property prices particularly in the old medinas are routinely under declared, the systems are all paper based so myself I wouldn't hold out much hope of those stats being available...but if they are I'd really like to know!!!

Re: Gueliz, Marrakech

Hi esmeralda,

Indeed real estate marketplace is emerging, you shoud know exactly where the demend is!! Guéliz is a very nice area and demended by those who want to be in the heart of the city for income reasons (rentals) the best investment is à 50 to 70 sqm easy rented and easy for resale! Recently there are developments not really too far from the heart of the city, very high-end qualities, location with guaranteed profitability, now let's say people woud rather invest in such developments where there is a concept, services like SPA, restaurant, commercial center... Not only investors are buying, even tourists who even first visited the city and who loved it buys in such developments for income reasons and holidays as well... If you would be interested to some of these just contact me here

Re: Gueliz, Marrakech

I think my point was that there simply aren't sufficient statistics available for the investor in Morocco.
Also there is so much hype about different areas/developments etc it makes it very difficult for a new investor to the market.
Thank you for your offer about areas in Marrakech but I am into renovations & will stick with Asilah & Azemmour. Marrakesh is a bit too busy for a country bumpkin like me!!!
